Luis Garcia and Stan Collymore react on Twitter to Liverpool loss to Villarreal

Villarreal, El Madrigal

The Reds were beaten 1-0 in Spain courtesy of a last minute goal.

Former Liverpool duo Stan Collymore and Don Hutchinson have reacted on Twitter to Liverpool’s loss to Villarreal.

The two sides met in the first leg of their Europa League semi final tie on Thursday looking to secure a positive result and take a step towards the final.

In the end it was a largely lifeless affair with chances few and far between, until a last minute goal from Adrian Lopez secured a 1-0 win for the Spaniards.

It was a bitter blow for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who would have been pleased to take a 0-0 draw to Anfield for the second leg, and Collymore believes that the German should come in for criticism.

Not everybody was negative about the result though, as trio Gary Lineker, John Aldridge and Luis Garcia all insisted the tie is far from over just yet.

The Reds will now be hoping they can produce another special nigh at Anfield to secure their progression into the final of the competition after the bitter blow in Spain.

They will certainly be confident of doing so though, having managed to overcome far superior competition in the shape of Dortmund in the last round.
