Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Kieran Dowell will be given his first-team chance before the end of the season.
Dowell has been Everton’s stand out performer at under-21 level in the past few weeks, with his performances being of a consistently high standard.
The 18-year-old showed his class in Everton’s development side’s last fixture, as he scored a magnificent hat-trick against Leicester City.
The youngster first chipped in from 35 yards, before he curled in two further strikes, which highlighted his finishing ability.
Martinez was in attendance at the match, and the Spanish boss was suitably impressed by the youngster’s showing to suggest that he will be given his first-team chance.
"Kieran Dowell has been outstanding for the Under-21s. I feel he is ready to be around the first team," he said.
Everton are destined to finish in mid-table in the Premier League this season, so there is little pressure on their final four fixtures.
The Toffees have already given chances to Tom Davies and Callum Connolly, while Matthew Pennington was named on the substitutes’ for their FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.
Dowell could be the next Toffees' youngster to receive his first-team opportunity, with the Merseyside club’s next match coming against Bournemouth at the weekend.
