Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis has been linked with a takeover of the club.

Rumours recently have been circulating that Nottingham Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi could be considering a sale to Greek businessman and Olympiakos owner Evangelos Marinakis.

This rumour first appeared in March and by the end of the month it was being reported by the Nottingham Post that Marinakis had no interest in taking over the club – suggesting that Olympiakos had denied this.

But despite this the rumours have rumbled on and now an Instagram post from the Forest chairman has fans talking.

Al-Hasawi sent this picture from his Instagram account this week – with many suggesting that the photo was taken in Greece.

Now reports in Greece have suggested that is the case. Gazzetta.gr is reporting that the picture in question was taken at Herodeon – an ancient stone theatre located near the Acropolis of Athens.

That has sparked the rumours once again.

Of course Al-Hasawi, who is certainly not universally popular at the City Ground, might have just been on a trip to Greece and not been in talks over a Greek takeover.

Even if many Forest fans might hope so.
