Saul Niguez scored an outstanding goal for Atletico Madrid in their Champions League semi-final with Bayern Munich.
Niguez, 21, has come through the ranks at the Vicente Calderon under the tutelage of outstanding coach Diego Simeone, and looked every inch the superstar midfielder he has been touted as.
The Spaniard has been linked with a switch to the Premier League in recent months, with Manchester United his biggest suitors.
The Sun claimed in March that United were preparing a £31 million bid for his services, to beat out competition from Arsenal.
The Mirror had reported back in January that United were holding talks with Atletico over his signature, but were evidently unsuccessful.
After last night, he just got a lot more expensive, and Atletico's desire to keep him will only have strengthened.
The other side of the coin is that United's efforts to sign him may re-intensify this summer, and certainly judging from the comments from their supporters on Twitter last night, he is a player fans would dearly love to see at Old Trafford...
