West Ham United prospect Reece Burke has surpassed all expectations on loan at Bradford City this season.
The centre-back has been outstanding for the League One side, establishing himself as a regular for the Bantams.
Burke, 21, was named the club's Player of the Season at their annual awards this week, Bradford confirmed via their official website.
The defender has been inundated with congratulations since, with supporters from Bradford and West Ham both wishing him well.
Burke last night sent a message on Twitter expressing that he was still taking in the achievement.
Still overwhelmed from last night. Thank you to everyone for your support!! I appreciate it pic.twitter.com/YSwTAhCkr6— Reece Burke (@Reeceburke5) April 27, 2016
His award win and message was acknowledged by former Hammer, Carlton Cole, who is currently playing for Celtic.
Despite the big individual win, there is still work for Burke to do this season from a collective standpoint to help Bradford win promotion to the Championship.
They are in the play-offs and could even end up facing West Ham's rivals Millwall, who are also in the mix.
Promotion is likely Bradford's best chance of keeping Burke, on the chance that West Ham can be convinced that letting him continue his development at a higher level in the Championship is the right move.
