Walsall fans blame Aston Villa coach for defeat in League One game

The Bescott club have been competing for promotion from League One this year.

Social media can be an unforgiving networking tool in the modern age, and that proved to be the case after Walsall’s shock 4-0 away defeat to Bradford City.

After challenging for promotion for a place in the second tier of English football all season, the Saddlers were stunned at Valley Parade and lost pace to a title rival to drop to fourth in the table.

The landscape of 21st century football means there must be someone to blame for each failing and on this occasion it came down to Walsall’s means of transport to get to the game.

The Bescott club borrowed Aston Villa’s bus to get to their away fixture on Saturday with a fan on Twitter posting a bird’s-eye view on the coach brandished with the Premier League team’s crest.

Villa’s relegation to the Championship has already been confirmed following a terrible campaign in the top flight.

According to the Walsall fans online, using a bus connected to the Villa squad means bad luck has rubbed off on their players, at least if the reaction on social media is anything to by:
