Report: Mario Balotelli to be offered in swap deal for Lazio captain

The Liverpool striker is unlikely to return to the Premier League following his loan deal.

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli will be offered to Lazio as part of a swap deal which would see their captain Lucas Biglia join the Premier League giants, reports Calcio Mercato Web.

The controversial centre-forward is currently on loan at Serie A side AC Milan from the Reds but is not expected to return to Anfield following the conclusion of his time away.

New Milan manager Cristian Brocchi reportedly has no intention of seeking a permanent contract for the Italy international but Reds boss Jurgen Klopp could use him as a makeweight.

The German head coach is reportedly eager to recruit a midfield enforcer who can dictate the tempo of matches and has cast his eye toward Argentina’s Biglia.

According to Calcio Mercato Web, there are several elite teams across Europe who are keen on the 30-year-old anchorman but Klopp feels a deal is in the offing, with Balotelli moving in the opposite direction.

Balotelli has featured in 18 league matches this season but he has scored just one goal in that time.
