Steve Evans to Peterborough? Here’s what Darragh MacAnthony said about Leeds boss last year

Leeds United

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony seems to be a fan of Leeds United head coach Steve Evans.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony is a massive fan of Leeds United head coach Steve Evans, as the following post on social networking site Twitter suggests.

MacAnthony made the post back on December 20, 2015 following Leeds’s 1-0 victory over Preston North End at Elland Road in the Championship.

Evans is still in charge of Leeds, but his current contract with the West Yorkshire outfit runs out in the summer and his future at the club is uncertain.

League One side Peterborough are on the hunt for a new manager following the recent sacking of Graham Westley.

According to latest odds on, Evans is the favourite for the Posh job at 7/4, with Steve Cotterill second favourite at 3/1.

The Scotsman is a good manager, and he is doing quite a fine job at Leeds at the moment. The Whites could finish in the top 10 of the Championship this season, and that should be considered success for a team who have been also-rans in the second tier of English football for the past few years.

If Leeds do not offer Evans a new contract, perhaps Peterborough could, as it is clear that the chairman likes him and rates him highly.
