Sergiu Bus agent gives update on his situation, Sheffield Wednesday future

Sergiu Bus was loaned out by Sheffield Wednesday earlier this season.

Sergiu Bus joined Sheffield Wednesday with big hopes midway through last season, hoping to be the prolific striker the team was searching for.

While the 23-year-old clearly has talent, as evidenced by his record of four goals in seven games for Romania's under-21 side, he struggled to live up to expectations and hold down a regular spot at the Owls.

He made only two substitute appearances for Wednesday this season in the Championship, and was loaned out to Italian side Salernitana.

Bus has scored just once in nine games for the Serie B side, spending most of his time lately on the bench, and his future at both clubs appears uncertain.

His agent has attempted to bring clarity to the matter, with Simone Grillo speaking to Italian side Tuttomercatoweb.

He said: "Sergiu is happy, when you will be called into question will be ready. Of course, an attacker needs continuity but will get his moment."

Regarding his future, Grillo implied that Bus would be happy at either club, whichever one decides they want him the most.

He said: "In June he will certainly be at the Sheffield, his employers, but it is difficult at the moment to make reliable predictions about the future.

"I repeat, in Salerno he is fine, he likes the town, the manager and is well with his teammates. If Salernitana will focus on him for next season then talks could be opened."

Bus' future depends somewhat on whether Sheffield Wednesday win promotion to the Premier League. If successful then it is hard to see the Romanian breaking into the team, but should they remain in the Championship then he may get a fresh chance.
