According to a report from Get French Football News, the agent of Aston Villa left back Jordan Amavi is in talks with the club about a summer move.
Amavi, 22, impressed in his native France with OGC Nice, and earned a major, big-money move to Villa last summer, with Tim Sherwood landing him as his new first-choice left back.
After some decent performances, Amavi went on international duty with the French Under-21's, and unfortunately season-ending knee injury, ruining his first season in England.
Villa struggled with him and struggled without him too, with relegation to the Championship now confirmed after a dismal campaign at Villa Park - and many players are expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
Players like Idrissa Gueye and Jordan Ayew may attract Premier League interest having been some of the only players to come out of the season with any respect, and left back Amavi could join that list.
A pacey left back with great potential once he returns from injury, Amavi may attract suitors - and his agent could be pushing for a move away from Villa Park.
Get French Football News report that Amavi's agent has arrived at Villa Park to talk with the club's hierarchy, where he is believed to be requesting that they don't stand in Amavi's way should a bigger club come in with an offer for him this summer.
That would be a blow for Villa, but Amavi won't be too keen on playing in the Championship - and if Villa can recoup most of the fee they paid almost a year ago, they may be better off selling him this summer.
Do you think Aston Villa should let Amavi go?
