The Colombian has not taken Atletico Nacional by storm since his return.
The cult icon arrived on loan from Cagliari after a previously unsuccessful stint with Roma.
Anticipation was high but the Colombian struggled at Watford.
He played just four times for Watford during his time at the club and did not score a single goal, in a genuinely unimpressive stint at Vicarage Road.
In February it was confirmed that Ibarbo had departed Watford, heading back to Colombia to join Atletico Nacional on loan from Cagliari.
So with Watford currently going through something of a sticky patch – should they have stuck by the Colombian?
Judging by his form at Nacional, probably not.
He has managed just one goal in his 12 games since returning to the club and, given his European experience, fans would have been expecting a lot more from the player.
Ibarbo, who remains a firm favourite with fans of FIFA, does not seem to translate his skills so well into the real world of football.
Watford, it seems, are not missing out on much.
