The Ukrainian is currently with Turkish side Besiktas.
This week saw Everton linked with a move for Besiktas goalkeeper Denys Boyko. Fotospor reported that Everton wanted to make a move for the player in the summer as they search for a new goalkeeper.
Boyko only joined the Turkish club last summer from Dnipro but has struggled to establish himself as a regular member of the Turkish club’s first-team.
Now his agent has confirmed the interest from Everton.
Vadim Shabliy has informed Sport-XL in Russia that he is interested in a move away from the club and that Everton are in fact interested:
"This is not a rumor. Everton are really interested in Boyko. We will think and discuss because Denys is not satisfied with the situation at Besiktas.
“Denys can become champion of Turkey but I would not say he is the second goalkeeper of Besiktas. Therefore we will consider the options.”
Of course Everton fans will recognise the name of his agent. Shabliy is the agent of Andriy Yarmolenko, a long-term target for Everton, and has been at Goodison Park in the past regarding the Ukrainian winger.
So there is certainly a link.
Everton need a new goalkeeper to challenge Joel Robles to the number one spot at Goodison Park. Tim Howard is heading to Colorado Rapids as his career at Everton comes to an end this summer.
Boyko, who has played just twice for Besiktas since his move, could be a shrewd signing.
