David Gold suggests that West Ham United will not sell Winston Reid in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has suggested on social networking site Twitter that the club will not sell Winston Reid in the summer transfer window.

Reid has been on the books of West Ham since 2010 and has a contract with the Premier League outfit until June 2021.

Gold has suggested on Twitter that the New Zealand international defender remains an important part of the team.

The West Ham co-chairman has also claimed that promising young defender Reece Burke will get his chance.

Reid has created two chances in 20 Premier League appearances for West Ham so far this season.

The 27-year-old former Midtjylland defender has a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 27%, and has won 42 headers, one dribble and 34 tackles.

Burke, who is just 19 years of age and can play as a centre-back or as a right-back, is on loan at League One outfit Bradford City from West Ham at the moment.
