Cyrus Christie shares his admiration of Real Madrid defender on Twitter

Derby County defender Cyrus Christie was impressed with Marcelo’s performance for Real Madrid against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Derby County defender Cyrus Christie has taken to social networking site Twitter to share his admiration of Real Madrid star Marcelo.

The 23-year-old right-back was impressed with the performance of Marcelo for Madrid against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The Brazil international left-back started the first leg of the semi-final tie at the Etihad Stadium and played for the entire 90 minutes.

Marcelo took one shot, had a pass accuracy of 74%, put in four crosses, attempted four dribbles, won 25% of his tackles, and made one clearance and five blocks.

Christie was impressed with the performance of the former Fluminense defender and expressed his admiration on Twitter.

Marcelo has created 11 chances in nine Champions League appearances for Madrid so far this season.

The Brazilian defender has a pass accuracy of 85% and a shot accuracy of 20%, and has won one header, 14 dribbles and eight tackles.

Christie has scored one goal and created 45 chances in 39 Championship appearances for Derby so far this campaign.

The Republic of Ireland international defender has a pass accuracy of 74% and a shot accuracy of 56%, and has won 69 headers, 59 dribbles and 69 tackles.
