Tom Hanks shares his plan for Aston Villa

Hanks And Thompson In Saving Mr Banks

Aston Villa have been relegated from the Premier League to the Championship.

Hollywood star Tom Hanks has told ITV, reported online by The Birmingham Mail, that he would invest in Aston Villa.

The world-famous American actor, who has starred in movies such as The Da Vinci Code, Captain Phillips and Forrest Gump, is a Villa fan, and he has jokingly stated that he would try to raise money for the club.

"I'm going to create a coffee shop book full of my photographs of lost gloves,” Hanks told ITV, reported online by The Birmingham Mail. "I will give all the money to developing Aston Villa.”

Villa have already been relegated from the Premier League and will play in the Championship next season.

The Villans are in deep trouble at the moment and have revealed that there will be job cuts. Moreover, Villa need to appoint a new manager who knows the Championship inside out.

The second tier of English football is very tough and hugely competitive, perhaps more than the Premier League.

It will be very hard for the Villans to return to the Premier League rightaway, and there is a very good chance that they may get stuck in the Championship for a few years at least.

Villa will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Watford away from home at Vicarage Road in the Premier League.
