The Reds have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the Germany under-21 international stopper.
The Cologne goalkeeper, 22, is regarded as one of the best players in his position in the Bundesliga, helping his club rise as high as eighth in the division.
His club have conceded 40 goals this term - the sixth best in Germany’s top flight - with Horn producing starring performances throughout the year.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to look for an upgrade on current No. 1 Simon Mignolet after the former Sunderland stopper committed another individual error in the 2-2 draw against relegation candidates Newcastle on Sunday.
A report in the Telegraph stated no player has made more mistakes leading to goals than Mignolet, with the Belgian international’s blunders causing the Reds to drop points against Norwich City, Sunderland, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion.
According to The Set Pieces, Horn - who has a reported release clause at just under £7 million - was quoted as saying his future was yet to be decided.
He said: “We will see,” he said. “I have a long contract [until 2019] in Cologne and my heart is in Cologne. I think we will talk about it with the manager [Peter Stöger], Jörg Schmadtke and also the goalkeeper trainer and then we will see what comes next.”
