Would current Leeds United head coach Steve Evans be a good managerial appointment for Peterborough United?

Peterborough United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to discuss the possibility of the club appointing Steve Evans as their head coach.

Evans is in charge of Championship outfit Leeds United at the moment, but his current contract with the Whites runs out in the summer.

It is not yet clear whether the Scotsman will be in charge of Leeds next season, and he has been linked with the vacant managerial post at Peterborough.

According to latest odds on, Evans is the favourite for the Posh job at 7/4, with Steve Cotterill second favourite at 3/1.

Peterborough recently sacked Graham Westley as their manager following a run of poor results.

The Posh, who were in the League One playoff places in January, are 14th in the league table at the moment with 57 points from 44 matches.

Meanwhile, Leeds currently find themselves 12th in the Championship table with 58 points from 44 matches.

Evans has experience of managing in League One, having guided Rotherham United from the division to the Championship.
