Rangers forward Martyn Waghorn has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his pride at winning two awards on Sunday evening.
The 26-year-old forward was voted the Players’ Player of the Year for Rangers, and he also picked up the award for being the Gers’ top goalscorer this season.
The former Sunderland and Leicester City forward has taken to Twitter to share his pride at being recognised by his Rangers teammates.
Another proud moment for myself at this great club last night! Top goal scorer and players player OTY! Thank you pic.twitter.com/DuYqWyVYjF— Martyn Waghorn (@MWaghorn33) 25 April 2016
Waghorn has been superb for Rangers this season and has been a key player in the Gers’ automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
The former England Under-21 international has scored as many as 28 goals this campaign, and he would have scored more had he not suffered an injury in February.
The forward is recovering well and will feature for Rangers this coming weekend. The Glasgow giants have progressed to the final of the Scottish Cup final this season, and one suspects that Waghorn will be determined to prove his fitness to manager Mark Warburton in order to feature in that match.
