West Ham United's Under-21's beat Hull City on Monday night.

West Ham United faced Hull City in the first leg of their Barclays U21 Premier League Cup final on Monday - and managed to claim a 1-0 win.

The Hammers have long had a reputation for promoting talent through the ranks, and fans must be excited as the next generation of West Ham stars edge towards a trophy.

Terry Westley's side played in front of the Upton Park crowd, and there were a host of familiar names in the West Ham starting line-up as they close in on silverware.

Hot prospects like Reece Oxford, Martin Samuelsen and Marcus Browne all played, along with fringe first-team players such as Sam Byram, Stephen Hendrie and Doneil Henry in a strong West Ham side.

It was substitute Djair Parfitt-Williams who was the hero on the night though, as the young striker swooped in the 90th minute to hand West Ham a first leg win.

The return leg at the KC Stadium will take place next week, and West Ham will be hoping to secure the win - whilst some players will hope that their performances can earn them first-team football under Slaven Bilic before the season ends next month.

Here some of the best images from the game, featuring January signing Byram and playmaker Samuelsen, both of whom are pushing for regular first-team football...

Do you think Byram and Samuelsen need to play before the end of the season?
