The two Leeds United teenagers both scored in their final appearance of the season.
Leeds United youngsters Malik Wilks and Frank Mulhern ended their respective under-21 campaigns in perfect style this week, with the former scoring his first goal at that level and the latter adding another strike to his steadily improving tally.
Mulhern has been impressing for Leeds’ second string for quite a while now and a first-team chance could come as early as next season if he enjoys an effective pre-season.
The 19-year-old is great in front of goal and he is one of the most highly-rated young forwards at Elland Road right now.
At just 17, Wilks has a lot longer to go before he is knocking on Leeds manager Steve Evans’ door, but after scoring his first under-21 goal in a 3-3 draw with Barnsley he will take great confidence heading into next season.
When it comes to Leeds’ next generation of strikers they will know the best way to impress is to find the net, regardless of the level they are playing at, so Wilks and Mulhern will be pleased to end the season in the best possible way for a goal-scorer.
