The Leeds United right-back is injured and will miss the final two matches of the campaign.
The Swiss defender was injured against Hull City at the weekend and it has now been clarified that he will not be fit for the upcoming games against Charlton Athletic and Preston North End.
Berardi started the season as Leeds’ first-choice right-back but first suspension and then injury saw Scott Wootton replace him in the starting line-up.
That did not go according to plan, with the former Manchester United player looking out of his depth more often than not, so it was a relief when Berardi returned in early March.
Since then the 27-year-old has played 11 consecutive matches but he will now start his recuperation from his latest setback, meaning Wootton will fight it out with Leeds youngster Lewie Coyle for a starting spot as the season draws to a close.
