Cresswell has enjoyed a great season at West Ham, but his quality has gone largely unheralded.
The former Ipswich Town man is not a headline grabber, and he has arguably not received the amount of plaudits he has deserved for his consistently good form.
However, Jenas was keen to give Cresswell some praise - and he named the left-back in his alternative Premier League Team of the Season on Yahoo.
Jenas says that Cresswell has similar attributes to what Baines did when he was at his very best.
“He reminds me of Leighton Baines at his peak, in terms of the quality he provides on that left flank,” the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder wrote.
“He has adapted seamlessly since he came up from the Championship two seasons ago, and I don't remember him ever getting destroyed by a winger.
“He's so comfortable on the ball, and the goal he recently scored against Leicester highlighted his technical ability. There are a lot of good English left-backs around, but Cresswell just seems to get better and better and an international call-up can't be far away.”
Baines and Cresswell are two of England boss Roy Hodgson’s potential options at left-back for EURO 2016.
Baines has not had his best season for Everton this term, and it seems that his age may be catching up with him, but he controversially appears to remain ahead of Cresswell in the pecking order for places at international level.
Cresswell has played 43 time for the Hammers this term, scoring on two occasions.
