The Frenchman has turned his career around.
Former Newcastle United winger Hatem Ben Arfa has certainly come on leaps and bounds after leaving St James’ Park.
After his troubles at Newcastle United he had to spend some time out of the game because of a ridiculous FIFA ruling.
He has won back a place in the French national team and been one of the star players in the division all season.
The attacker has scored 17 goals in 34 games this season and is now being linked with a Premier League return.
The Sun claimed earlier this week that Jurgen Klopp wants to bring the French winger to Liverpool this summer. He is out of contract this summer and Liverpool would feel he could be an enigmatic but brilliant coup.
This week he has been speaking to L’Equipe about his future and admitted that he might stay at Nice, but a move away was also a possibility:
“See me in Ligue 1 next season? Yes, that is possible.
“Today, everything is possible, apart from going to China or a country like that.
“Staying in Nice? It’s possible.
“It’s not a political answer, especially as there is the Champions League at the end.
“Join a big club this summer? It’s one of the possibilities too.
“I have advisers around me to protect me from all that. I focus on club goals.”
Ben Arfa’s time in England previously was a struggle but at times he showed glimpses of his obvious talent and Liverpool must feel he has it in his locker to be a hit in the Premier League once again.
