Vardy will miss Leicester’s Premier League game against Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The England international missed the Foxes’ league match against Swansea City at the weekend after being sent off against West Ham United at the King Power Stadium on April 17.
The 29-year-old striker remonstrated with referee Jon Moss after being dismissed, and this has earned him a one-match ban for improper conduct.
Former Leicester striker Lineker has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the extended ban imposed on Vardy.
Vardy has been given an extra game ban by the @FA . Sets a precedent. Trust that all players abusing ref will get the same.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) April 26, 2016
Strange time to start and could lead to hundreds of bans, but would be good to stamp out abuse of refs. Let's be consistent now we've begun.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) April 26, 2016
Leicester will win the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon if they pick up all three points against United.
It will not be easy for Claudio Ranieri’s side to win, but the Foxes will head into the game at Old Trafford high on confidence.
