Filipe Luis explains how Leicester could inspire a Champions League win

UEFA Champions League Trophy

The Brazilian left-back says the Foxes' success is helping Atletico in Europe.

As well as inspiring a nation with their own against-the-odds Premier League success, Leicester City are also providing hope for Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, according to Sky Sports.

Indeed, Atletico defender Filipe Luis says Leicester's title challenge is inspiring Atletico's own 'epic' bid for silverware in the Champions League.

The Brazilian feels Leicester and the Madrid side are both 'modest' teams and that Claudio Ranieri's success with the Midlands outfit has sent a buoyant message to his own club.

Luis is quoted as saying by Sky Sports via Reuters: "Look at what is happening this year with Leicester, they are a modest team and are almost champions in the Premier League.

"Epic things happen in football. Although there's a difference in our budgets we are the team that plays most as a team."

Tottenham's draw with West Brom on Monday night would have been music to Leicester supporters' ears.

Seven points clear, the Foxes now need just one win to secure the Premier League title. How Ranieri and co would love that win to come at Old Trafford - the home of so many previous Premier League triumphs.

And Leicester sealing the deal could also provide that final bit of encouragement for Atletico to complete their own fairytale in Europe.
