Last night seemingly saw Tottenham Hotspur’s title challenge come to an end. Their draw with West Bromwich Albion has given Leicester City the overwhelming advantage in the hunt for a prestigious first Premier League title and they look ready to take it.
But it has still been an impressive season for Spurs and they still look like a team that have plenty to build on for next season.
As long as they keep their best players.
The main one of course being Harry Kane. The club’s top-scorer has been sensational for the past two seasons and has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Now football legend Diego Maradona has shared his belief that his former club Napoli should sign the player.
Speaking to Piuenne TV, as quoted by FourFourTwo, the Argentine and Neapolitan great stated that Napoli will sell star striker Gonzalo Higuain in the summer and should do everything in their power to replace him with the Tottenham star:
"[Higuain] gave his best to Napoli, I don't think he can repeat this kind of form. We already saw it happen with [Ezequiel] Lavezzi.
"With the money he will earn, he will have to build a great team.
"It's not easy to replace Higuain, if it was up to me, I would choose Tottenham's [Harry] Kane.
"I don't know how much he costs, but I would sign him."
Kane though would be foolish to make the move.
Napoli and Tottenham are probably on a level playing field at the moment except the Italian Serie A is perhaps a weaker league than the Premier League.
At Tottenham, a team he loves, Kane is at the forefront of something potentially special and he must stick around to see it out.
