Blow for Tottenham? Mauricio Pochettino claims managing PSG would be a dream

Mauricio Pochettino says he would love to manage Paris Saint-Germain.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told RMC Sport that it would be his dream to manage his former club Paris Saint-Germain.

Pochettino, 44, became Spurs manager back in the summer of 2014 having impressed with Southampton, but few could have expected him to make such a huge impact at Tottenham.

The Argentine has turned Spurs into legitimate title contenders inside just two years, and whilst Monday's 1-1 draw with West Brom effectively ruled them out of contention for the title this year, the rise of young players like Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane under his management mean that Spurs and Pochettino should be in the title picture for years to come.

However, his miracles at White Hart Lane have led many fans to worry about his future with Spurs. Clubs with bigger budgets may come calling, and whilst a move to Manchester United looks unlikely, one club they may have to worry about is Paris Saint-Germain.

Pochettino made 95 appearances for PSG as a player, and with confusion surrounding the future of their manager Laurent Blanc, there has been a suggestion that Pochettino could end up back in the French capital.

Now, the Argentine has been speaking to French radio station RMC Sport about a whole host of subjects, and was specifically asked about becoming PSG manager.

Pochettino responded by saying that joining PSG is a dream for him, which could be something of a concern for Spurs fans as they hope their impressive manager will stay.

"I’ve always said that I would be pleased to join a great club like PSG," said Pochettino. "Come to Paris? I hope so. It is true that it would please me. It’s part of my dreams. I try to watch all their matches, especially in the Champions League."

"The [French] championship is not very attractive because PSG is far from the other teams but I look a lot because it is a major source of players. There is talent so I have to follow Ligue 1," he added.
