Former Brighton & Hove Albion and Celtic player Adam Virgo has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Leeds United head coach Steve Evans would be a good managerial candidate for the Peterborough United job.
Peterborough are on the hunt for a new manager following the recent sacking of Graham Westley.
Evans’s current contract with Championship outfit Leeds runs out in the summer, and it is not yet clear if he will remain in charge of the West Yorkshire outfit for next season
@PUFC_Kyle always a tough club to manage but a great one if you get it right. Steve Evans say what bout him but has had success in L1— Adam Virgo (@Adamvirgs19) April 24, 2016
Evans has experience of managing in League One with Rotherham United, who got promoted to the Championship under the 53-year-old.
The former Crawley Town boss has done a good job at Leeds, and he does deserve a new contract with the Whites.
If Leeds do go for someone else, then another Championship club could move for Evans, who has proven himself to be good enough for the second tier of English football.
Would Evans be willing to take a step down and go back to League One after managing in the Championship?
