The two sides meet at White Hart Lane on Monday with Mauricio Pochettino's men hoping to close the gap on the league leaders.
Sandro insists that he wants former club Tottenham to win the Premier League this season, but still hopes that West Brom will be able to take some points away from their meeting at White Hart Lane on Monday, Sky Sports reports.
The 27-year-old made 81 top flight appearances during a four-year spell in North London. And while Spurs were always challenging towards the sharp end of the table during his time with the club, it was usually for a place in the top four.
This season however, Mauricio Pochettino's men are the only team that can deny Leicester City the league title. With four games to go, they are eight points adrift so will desperately want a win against the Baggies.
Though the Brazilian claimed to want his old side to catch the Foxes, he explained that he wanted to dent their hopes during Monday's game.
"Am I surprised by how well they've done this season? Yes, a little bit. It's not just the attackers who are doing well, it's the midfielders, the defenders, the manager," he told Sky Sports.
"They've improved, you can see they're enjoying their football. I'm happy for them but now I have to try and stop them!
"For sure [I want them to win the league]. But we have to go there and try to stop them and try to win points. It's a special game but I will try to stop them."
Unfortunately for the midfielder, it is unlikely that both Tottenham winning the league and West Brom taking a share of the points on Monday can happen.
Should Tony Pulis' men earn a draw or a victory, Leicester will be able to wrap up the title as early as this coming weekend when they come up against Manchester United.
