Villarreal will take on the Merseyside outfit at the Estadio El Madrigal in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday evening.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen believes that the match will end in a draw.
“The hosts are without a win in their last 10 games against English opposition but, despite a goalless draw on Sunday in La Liga, tend to find the back of the net in the Europa League having scored in 30 of their last 31 games in the competition,” the former England international wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Jurgen Klopp is unbeaten in 10 European ties with the Reds and I think Liverpool will get a draw on Thursday before finishing the job off at Anfield.”
A football note added: “Michael’s recommendation: Game to finish in a draw at 9/4.”
Liverpool will head into the tie as favourites, but the Reds cannot be complacent of winning or even drawing the first leg.
Villarreal are having a wonderful season in La Liga and find themselves fourth in the table at the moment.
The Yellow Submarine are likely to finish in the Champions League places, but they will also be determined to win the Europa League.
For Liverpool to progress to the final of the prestigious European competition, they need to score at least once in Spain.
If Villarreal win 2-0 or even 3-1, then it would be very difficult for the Reds to overcome the deficit in the second leg at Anfield.
