Dietmar Hamann shares his appreciation of Leicester on Twitter

Leicester City - King Power Stadium

Dietmar Hamann compares Leicester City to the Manchester United team of the late 1990s.

Former Newcastle United and Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has claimed on social networking site Twitter that Leicester City look like the Manchester United of the late 1990s.

Hamann made the bold comparison during Leicester’s comfortable 4-0 victory over Swansea City at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Leicester were truly sensational against Swansea and deserved to win the match 4-0.

What is remarkable about the Foxes’ performance is that they picked up all three points without key striker Jamie Vardy. The England international was suspended for the match, but Claudio Ranieri’s side did not miss him.

Back in the late 1990s, United were one of the most entertaining and strongest teams in Europe.

Under then manager Louis van Gaal, the Red Devils won the Premier League and the Champions League.

The difference between the current Leicester team and the United side of the late 1990s is that Ranieri does not have any world-class players.

The current Leicester squad is built on team spirit, and that is something to admire.
