Craig Gordon reacts to boos, sends message to fans about next season

The Celtic goalkeeper has been discussing next campaign.

Craig Gordon can understand why Celtic fans booed the players off on Sunday afternoon, according to the club's official website.

But the shot stopper has promised the Bhoys faithful at least an effort to improve things next campaign.

The 33-year-old wants maximum effort during Celtic's final four games of the season, ahead of a vital summer going into next season.

Gordon is quoted as saying: "They probably wanted more from the season than where we are at the moment and it’s up to us now to get the job done over the final four games, get to the summer, make sure we have won the title and then we can start again for next season."

Celtic's players have certainly underwhelmed this season and things should be even tougher next term with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.

Many of those who seemed to impress last campaign just haven't turned up. Gordon hasn't been the same but Stefan Johansen and Scott Brown have undergone massive dips in form.

Kieran Tierney has been the standout player at Parkhead and that says it all about Celtic's senior players.

Next up for the Bhoys is a trip to Hearts in the league on Saturday afternoon.
