Stan Collymore underlines Aston Villa woes with Leicester City comparison

The former forward has proved just how bad the Villans have been in recent years.

Stan Collymore has demonstrated just how poorly Aston Villa have been in the last three seasons, in a tweet comparing them with Leicester City.

The Foxes went eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table on Sunday, with a 4-0 win over Swansea City taking them closer to the most unlikely of titles.

In contrast, Aston Villa sit bottom of the table and are set to play their football in the Championship after a disastrous campaign end with relegation last week.

This year has been the culmination of several poor seasons with them and Collymore has pointed out just how bad they have been by comparing them to the Foxes.

There is no escaping that Villa have been poor in recent years having only narrowly avoided relegation on several occasions before this season.

Now though, there is no point in reflecting on this campaign and instead they must look to the future and hope they can make a quick return to the Premier League.

The first decision they must make is in regards to a new manager, with that decision crucial to how they will fare next season and beyond.
