Alan Pardew reportedly wants to build his Crystal Palace defence around Wolves star Dominic Iorfa.

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew wants to build his defence around Wolverhampton Wanderers giant Dominic Iorfa.

The Eagles advanced into the FA Cup final earlier today with a 2-1 win over Watford, and manager Alan Pardew will be hoping for a superb end to the season before heading into the summer transfer window, where the Eagles will need reinforcements.

A poor second half of the season means that Pardew needs to re-tool his squad, and he appears to have a main transfer target in mind already.

The Sun report that Pardew is keen to lure Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dominic Iorfa to Selhurst Park, and even wants to build his defence around the youngster.

Iorfa, 20, started out with his hometown club Southend, but moved to Wolves at the age of 15, and is now not only a first-team regular in the Championship, but also an England Under-21 international.

The right back, who stands at a giant 6ft 4in tall, has great strength and pace, making him one of English football's most athletic full backs - and it's no surprise that Palace and Pardew would want a player like that.

It's claimed that, with Arsenal also keen on Iorfa, Palace are ready to open the bidding at £3m for Iorfa - but whether Wolves would accept such a bid remains to be seen.
