There was heartbreak for Watford at Wembley but Palace made it through to their first final since 1990.
Sunday was always going to be an emotional day for Watford and Crystal Palace fans.
Saturday afternoon's FA Cup semi-final was about relief. Whoever went through - Manchester United or Everton - would have done so knowing they had pretty much saved their season in so doing. For the losing side, Everton in the event, it seems to be a further nail in the coffin of their manager.
As far as Watford are now concerned, their defeat to Palace may raise further questions about Quique Sanchez Flores' future.
The Spaniard has done a great job with the Hornets but talk about his future has surfaced recently and perhaps the club's owners want to continue their tradition of chopping and changing.
Either way, Sunday will live on as a day things nearly came good for Watford. For Crystal Palace, however, dreams came true.
And there were several brilliant photos of Crystal Palace fans soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the moment. Connor Wickham's winner to make it 2-1 to the south London side secured a place in the FA Cup final for the first time since 1990.
Alan Pardew's been there before, of course, but can he go all the way this time?
