Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has won the PFA Player of the Year award for 2015/16, voted for by his fellow professionals.
Mahrez, 25, won the award and was there in person to receive it in London after flying there by private helicopter, The Mirror reported, along with his fellow Leicester nominees after their late Sunday afternoon kick-off at home to Swansea City.
The Foxes won the game 4-0, with appropriately, Mahrez scoring the opening goal of the game.
His record this season has been outstanding, with the strike against the Swans the 17th Premier League goal he has scored, with 11 assists.
It is hard to argue he does not deserve the award, despite the high credentials of his fellow nominees, including Leicester teammates Jamie Vardy and Ngolo Kante.
Tottenham ace Harry Kane, Mesut Ozil of Arsenal and West Ham's Dimitri Payet were also nominated, with all but the Gunners exceeding expectations this season.
Leicester have an eight point gap at the top of the Premier League but Tottenham have a game in hand at home to West Brom to play on Monday night where they can cut it to five, with three games remaining.
The team prize of winning the trophy is what everybody really wants, but Mahrez's individual greatness this season will long be remembered either way.
Here is a look at how Leicester City fans reacted on twitter to his award win...
