The Swiss defender suffered an ankle injury.
Leeds United picked up an impressive 2-2 draw against Hull City this weekend although it was a game they would have felt they could have one.
The Yorkshire club had a lot of positives to take from the game.
Chris Wood impressed again, despite his missed penalty. Charlie Taylor was magnificent at left-back. Winger Jordan Botaka also looked great as an impact substitute once again. However, there was one sour note to the game.
Leeds full-back Gaetano Berardi was stretchered off with an ankle injury in the tie which looks nasty and, with only two games left of the season, it seems the Swiss defender might have played his last game of the season.
Not many of the Italian imports have been popular at Leeds but the Swiss, who arrived from Sampdoria in 2014, has certainly become a cult hero.
His no-nonsense approach and bravery serves him well but unfortunately it leads to injuries and this season he has split his head open twice and suffered two serious looking ankle problems.
Understandably Leeds fans were wishing him all the best on Twitter after the game…
Can't fault Berardi's commitment to the cause this season. Two bloody facial injuries and twice taken off on a stretcher. #LUFC— Jamie Collins (@LUJC83) April 23, 2016
FT 2-2 well worth the draw, need a new penalty taker and hope Berardi is ok. Taylor class again but shussssh #LUFC— Tony Mulraney (@tmulraney) April 23, 2016

Poor Berardi. Would say he's unlucky with injuries but some of them didn't look what one might suggest as 'accidental'. Targeted? #lufc— Jennifer (@jenbarlufc) April 23, 2016
Berardi again. STOP INJURING MY BAE— Beth (@BF_lufc) April 23, 2016
