Jermaine Jenas suggested on BBC Radio 5 live Sport on Friday evening (April 22) that Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco would not be a good fit for Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Tottenham star also suggested that the North London outfit may not be able to sign forward Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.
“I mentioned maybe Griezmann,” said Jenas on BBC Radio 5 live Sport on Friday evening (April 22) while discussing how Tottenham can strengthen in the summer transfer window. “Is that achievable? I don’t know.
“I have mentioned Isco before. I don’t think physically he would be up to the pressing style that Spurs have got, as good as he is technically.”
Tottenham have a very strong squad, and that is reflected in the fact that they are still in the hunt for the Premier League title this season.
However, Spurs will need to sign players in the summer transfer window, and it will be interesting to see who they bring in.
Griezmann is one of the best forwards in Europe, and it is unlikely that he will join Tottenham.
The 25-year-old France international is already playing for a club who are challenging for La Liga and Champions League glory.
Isco would be an interesting option, especially as he is not guaranteed a place in the Madrid starting lineup.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is a very talented player, but he would not find it easy to play regularly for Spurs.
Who would the Spain international replace in the current Tottenham starting lineup?
