Jermaine Jenas said on the Final Score show on BBC Two on Saturday afternoon (April 23) that Newcastle United can win their next two Premier League games.
The Magpies will take on Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park next weekend and then face Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park on May 7.
Former Newcastle midfielder Jenas believes that Rafael Benitez’s side should be able to pick up maximum points from those two league fixtures.
“When you are down there, the pressure comes on top. They just need to keep stepping it up the way they are now and give themselves a chance. That’s all they can do.”
Newcastle are unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches, and there are encouraging signs.
The way the Magpies staged a comeback from two goals down to pick up a point against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon suggests that there is still enough fight left in the team.
Palace’s league campaign is pretty much over, and playing at home is also going to help Newcastle.
Villa have already been relegated to the Championship, and it is hard to see Rafael Benitez’s side not bag all three points at Villa Park.
