Newcastle United played out a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.

Newcastle United duo Andros Townsend and Moussa Sissoko have taken to social networking site Twitter to express their delight at the team’s comeback against Liverpool.

The Magpies came from two goals down to play out a 2-2 draw with Liverpool away from home in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Daniel Sturridge put the Reds in the lead at Anfield after just two minutes, and Adam Lallana doubled the home team’s advantage on the half-hour mark.

Papiss Cisse halved the deficit for Newcastle just three minutes into the second half, and Jack Colback scored the equaliser midway through the second half.

Townsend and Sissoko have taken to Twitter to revel in the stunning comeback, and so have their Newcastle teammates Rolando Aarons, Kevin Mbabu, Rob Elliot and Jamaal Lascelles.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, Newcastle had just 33% of the possession, took six shots of which three were on target, and earned four corners.

Rafael Benitez’s side are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 30 points from 35 matches.
