The Portuguese has signed an extension with the Championship side.
The Portuguese initially moved to Hillsborough after agreeing a one-year deal with the Owls, but with his work reportedly catching Swansea City's eye (via Star), it was clear that Wednesday had to move swiftly to prove to him that he was the man that the club's hierarchy saw taking the side forward.
And the centre-back admitted that knowing that Carvalhal is set to stay is a major boost to the team.
"We have enjoyed working with him," he told the Star.
"It's been a good season. He's a good manager to work for and we all enjoy coming into training.
"It's nice for him to have that stability.
"I think I can speak for everyone in the dressing room, we enjoy playing for him and working for him."
Carvalhal has enjoyed an excellent first season in England. While his first few weeks with Wednesday were unspectacular, it became obvious that those weeks were spent making sure that his philosophy was instilled in the team.
And once it was, the Owls flew up the table and now sit sixth in the Championship with just three games to go. And with six points separating them from the sides directly above and below them, it appears that a play-off spot is virtually assured, which means that even though Carvalhal did not get the Swansea job, he may still be managing at the highest level next season.
