Alan Shearer hopes Newcastle don't regret appointing Rafael Benitez so late in the season.
After beating Swansea City 3-0 last weekend, Newcastle then earned a credible 1-1 draw with Manchester City in midweek - and faced another tough task as they travelled to Merseyside to take on an in-form Liverpool side.
An early goal from Daniel Sturridge put Liverpool in front, and when Adam Lallana made it 2-0 before half time, it looked like Newcastle were dead and buried at Anfield.
However, former Reds boss Rafael Benitez conjured up a huge comeback as Papiss Cisse and Jack Colback struck to earn Newcastle an unlikely point.
The result leaves Newcastle just one point shy of safety, and they are starting to look like a solid team under Spaniard Benitez, who is making a major impact at St. James' Park.
After the final whistle, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer took to Twitter to give his reaction, admitting it was 'another good point' for his former club.
Shearer also noted that Newcastle may regret not appointing Benitez earlier in the season - but sincerely hopes they don't, and have enough time to save themselves under him, despite only arriving in March.
