Report: David Moyes now favourite for Celtic job as Brendan Rodgers nears Swansea City return

It looks like Rodgers is set to return to South Wales.

This week saw Celtic confirm that manager Ronny Deila would be stepping down from his role at the club in the summer by mutual consent.

That has seen a long list of names being linked with the Celtic job – including the former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers.

The boyhood Celtic fan joins the likes of David Moyes and Roy Keane in the running for the Parkhead role.

But a report this weekend has suggested that Rodgers will not be heading to Celtic, as he has already agreed a move elsewhere.

The Daily Mail has reported that Rodgers will be returning to his former club Swansea City at the end of the season.

The report claims that Swansea have now made their move for the manager and that Moyes is now the favourite for the Celtic job.

Rodgers is said to be on the verge of agreeing his return to the Liberty Stadium. The Welsh club are set to be taken over by an American consortium and they are keen on replacing Francesco Guidolin with Rodgers – who managed Swansea from 2010 until 2012.
