Pundit claims Rodgers is too good for Swansea job

Francesco Guidolin's future as Swansea manager is under intense speculation.

Speculation has been mounting concerning Brendan Rodgers return as Swansea City boss, as reported by the Daily Mail.

BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage has had his say on the rumours however, claiming Rodgers is too good for the Swans. Speaking on BT Sport, Savage claimed the ex-Liverpool boss can set his sights higher than the Welsh club:

"He managed Liverpool, did so well at Liverpool, why would he go to Swansea?"

He then compared the situation to Neil Lennon taking the Bolton Wanderers job following his four year stint as Celtic boss:

"It's a bit like Lennon taking the Bolton job, he was brilliant at Celtic, Champions League football, beating Barcelona, then he took the Bolton job and I thought - you're better than that."

Swansea currently sit in 14th position in the Premier League, 10 points clear of 18th placed Sunderland, and speculation has been mounting regarding the future of their manager Francesco Guidolin. He has made no secret of his desire to become the Italian national boss, a job that will be vacated this summer by incoming Chelsea manager - Antonio Conte, as reported by talkSPORT.

The Swans head to The King Power Stadium tomorrow to take on league leaders Leicester City, in a game that could see them ensure their Premier League survival.
