Paul Merson gave quickfire answers to two pressing questions regarding Arsenal and Tottenham.
Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson was put on the spot in the latest SkySports Fantasy Football podcast and asked for quick responses on two pressing questions.
Regarding Tottenham's title challenge, asked if they will be lifting the trophy in May, he said, offering little more: "Yeah I do."
As for Arsene Wenger, he agrees with fans wanting the Frenchman to leave the club. He said: "Yes, everybody needs changing [at Arsenal]."
Merson went onto add that he would like to see Arsenal appoint Jose Mourinho. He said: "I'd like Jose at Arsenal. If you give him three years at Arsenal he will win the league twice."
The two topics are linked because Tottenham's title surge has highlighted the fact Arsenal's own challenge has faded. Only one was expected to mount a league trophy bid this season and that was the Gunners, but a poor succession of results has seen them fall away.
Arsenal have not won the league title since 2003/04, and this season was seen as their best chance for years due to the way teams also expected to do well and have won in in previous years have struggled.
This evening they beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0, bouncing back from two games without a win, but they are five points behind bitter North London rivals Tottenham, who themselves are five points behind league leaders Leicester City with four games each to go.
