Middlesbrough will face Ipswich Town in the Championship this weekend, while Huddersfield Town will take on Birmingham City.

Middlesbrough v Ipswich Town

Former Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has predicted on that Middlesbrough will win against Ipswich Town this weekend.

Middlesbrough will take on Ipswich at home in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Holloway has backed Aitor Karanka’s side to pick up all three points from the encounter at the Riverside Stadium courtesy of a 1-0 victory.

“I don't think much can stop Middlesbrough now, not even Mick McCarthy at Ipswich who will be relishing this challenge,” the former Millwall boss wrote on “I think Middlesbrough are nailed on to get promoted now.

“Jordan Rhodes has found his hot-shot streak again. He deserves credit, of course, but so does his manager. He has kept faith and is being rewarded now. Well done Mr Karanka.”

Middlesbrough are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 86 points from 43 matches and look set to gain automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

Scotland international striker Jordan Rhodes, who joined Boro from Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers in the January transfer window, has scored five goals and created five chances in 14 league matches for Karanka’s side.

Huddersfield Town v Birmingham City

Huddersfield Town will take on Birmingham City at home in the Championship this weekend.

Birmingham are out of the running for the playoffs, and Holloway believes that the home team will win the game 1-0.

“Nahki Wells is firing on all cylinders for Huddersfield - he's the fourth top scorer in the league now with 17 goals,” Holloway wrote on “He’s a brilliant athlete. If you look at him, he'd look like he'd blow over in the wind but he's a tough cookie. Goalscorers like him are like gold dust.

"Andre Gray has turned out to be a cheap buy at £9m, so how much would Wells be worth? Not far off that, I'd say. He'll get the winning goal here.”
