Everton and Premier League rivals United will face each other in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at the Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday evening.
"I think it will be tense and I think Everton will be too worried about making mistakes to play well,” the former Scotland international told Sky Sports while predicting a 1-0 win for United against Everton.
"I've done a heck of a lot of United games this season and, while I've rarely been impressed by them, they've built some momentum with three successive wins, which started by a good display against West Ham.”
United will head into the semi-final tie against Everton as favourites and with confidence of progressing to the final of the FA Cup.
Louis van Gaal’s side are in better form than the Toffees, who suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Merseyside rivals Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
Everton do have the players to win the match against United, but Roberto Martinez’s side have under-performed throughout the campaign.
An early goal for the Toffees could give them a good chance, but the Red Devils should have enough to stage a comeback and win the tie.
