Report names the club David Moyes would prefer to join in the summer

David Moyes

David Moyes has history with both Celtic and Everton.

David Moyes would prefer returning to Everton to becoming the new Celtic manager, according to The Scottish Sun.

Moyes is without a managerial job at the moment, having been sacked by Spanish club Real Sociedad in November 2015.

Celtic will be looking for a new manager in the summer after current boss Ronny Deila announced this week that he will leave the Scottish Premiership giants at the end of the season.

Pressure is increasing on Everton manager Roberto Martinez due to the Toffees’ disappointing results and performances in the Premier League this season.

Moyes was in charge of the Merseyside outfit from 2002 to 2013 and started his professional playing career at Glasgow giants Celtic.

According to The Scottish Sun, the former Manchester United manager would not enter into talks with Celtic right now despite the Bhoys’ interest in his services.

The British tabloid has claimed that Moyes would prefer to return to Everton, with it being reported that “sources close to the Scot believe he will be the leading candidate for a return to Goodison if under-pressure Martinez is axed”.

Moyes achieved considerable success with Everton during his time at Goodison Park, helping the Merseyside outfit become an established Premier League club.

Celtic should win the Scottish Premiership title this season, but they could face a strong challenge from Old Firm rivals Rangers during the 2016-17 campaign.
