Report: Mystery Premier League rival to battle Tottenham Hotspur for signature of Yunus Malli

Spurs will have to do battle with a Premier League rival for the Mainz star.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently impressing under Mauricio Pochettino and are now looking to potentially strengthen their squad in the summer.

Names are now beginning to be linked with a move to White Hart Lane and one player who is said to be interesting Spurs is Mainz attacker Yunus Malli.

Sport Bild recently reported that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on snapping up the player who has had an excellent 2015-16 season so far.

Now a fresh report on his future has been reported in Germany. Kicker is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on the player – but will face competition from an unnamed Premier League rival.

The report claims that Borussia Dortmund, who bid for the player in the winter, were now unsure on whether to make another move for the player in the summer, after his form dipped in the second half of the season.

But Spurs, Valencia and the mystery Premier League club are all still keen on the player who has a release clause of €10 million (£7.8 million).

Malli has scored 10 goals in 33 appearances for Mainz in what has proved to be an impressive campaign for him. The former German under-21 international has even made his debut for Turkey, after switching allegiance late last year.
