Mbabu has recovered from his recent injury problems and will be part of the Newcastle squad to face Liverpool this weekend.
The 21-year-old defender has recovered from a thigh problem and trained with the Magpies’ squad this week.
The left-back has taken to Twitter to suggest that he could play a part for Newcastle against Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Mbabu’s recovery is a huge boost for Newcastle, who need to pick up all three points at Anfield in order to maintain a realistic chance of staving off relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.
The former Switzerland Under-19 international defender has featured in three Premier League matches for Newcastle so far this season, creating one chance in the process.
The youngster has a pass accuracy of 58%, and has won three headers, one dribble and nine tackles.
